Garbage is a “real, essential issue” in the city and around the world, said Crystal Froese.
“Really, this
time of year all you have to do is take a look out your window or if people
start to garden, there’s garbage that lands in your yard,” said Froese,
co-founder of Beautif-i Moose Jaw.
“Obviously
someone has thrown it away and it accumulates over time and it ends up into our
food system eventually out in the fields, into the streams and into the water
that we drink.”
On Thursday,
starting at 8 a.m., Beautif-i Moose Jaw is holding a city wide Pick It Up
Challenge with local businesses and organizations.
