Friday, the provincial government announced it will cap the reduction
of grants in lieu of taxes to municipalities at “no more than 30 per
cent of the amount the municipality receives in revenue sharing.”
Moose Jaw is one of the nine communities that will retain a portion
of their grants in lieu payments from SaskPower and SaskEnergy, along
with Estevaqn, Humboldt, Melfort, Melville, North Battleford, Prince
Albert, Weyburn and Yorkton.
