Vanier Collegiate to host educational finance information event

There are lots of options available to finance education.
“Whether that relates to college or university or trade, there’s always different financial information that’s useful,” said Christa Lapointe, career counsellor at Vanier Collegiate.
“I always find that learning about financial literacy and learning how to finance your education, it’s always important. Everyone hears about it, but when it’s right around the corner it definitely becomes much more relevant.”
Tonight at 7 p.m., there will be an event, Financing Your Education, at Vanier Collegiate featuring Lapointe and Susan Smuk, branch manager of the Conexus Credit Union South Hill branch. Open to Grade 11 and 12 students and parents of any school division in the surrounding area, the event is intended to “help alleviate some of the anxiety and stresses that students have,” said Lapointe.
