As Jack and Evelyn Hill walked into the Willowdale Court lobby, more than 30 people started to sing, "For He's a Jolly Good Fellow."

"Surprise!" the residents exclaimed in glee after the song as smiles adorned the couple's faces. Five residents of Willowdale Court apartments arranged a surprise going-away party for the retirement of the Hills as the long-term caretakers of the complex on Sunday afternoon. The Hills were caretakers at the complex for just over 33 years.


"I can't believe this," said Jack after walking in on the surprise party. "I didn't have a clue."

"I'm a little shocked, but that's OK," added Evelyn. "It means they appreciate us."
