Moose Jaw Times-Herald: Looking at possible pool closure

Councillors receive report on possible savings of one pool open at a time

By Lisa Goudy

If the city closed the Kinsmen Sportsplex during the summer, the city could potentially save up to $61,523.
At Monday’s executive committee meeting, councillors received a report stemming from a council motion passed on March 21 to receive a report on projections for only having one pool open at a time.
“The Kinsmen Sportsplex currently opens year round with the exception of a three-week shutdown for regular maintenance and has done since it first opened in 1996,” said Ted Schaeffer, director of parks and recreation.
