Clayton Clysdale-Finnell will forever be thankful for the times Jason Mercer helped him out.

"I wouldn't say we were the best of friends. We were friends. He helped me out a few times with any questions I had. It was great," he said. "He was such a wonderful person to everyone."

Mercer, a constable with the Moose Jaw Police Service for 18 years, died suddenly on March 23. His funeral service was held on Thursday with approximately 2,000 people in attendance.
