Moose Jaw Times-Herald: More electrical campsites for Buffalo Pound

Province announces $350,000 for electrical expansion, upgrades

On Aug. 11, 2015 the Government of Saskatchewan
announced $350,000 for campsite electrical expansion
and upgrading at Buffalo Pound Provincial Park.

So many people have come to Buffalo Pound Provincial Park this year that park officials have had to turn people away.

"On both of our long weekends, we couldn't take anybody else in," said Dave Bjarnason, park supervisor. "We didn't have anywhere else to put campers. We didn't have anywhere else to put boats and trailers. We were as full as you can be."
The campsites highest in demand are the electrified sites. By next summer, more campsites will be electrical.
On Tuesday, Parks, Culture and Sport Minister Mark Docherty announced the government's investment of more than $350,000 for campsite electrical expansion and upgrading.
