Moose Jaw Times-Herald: Wind wreaks havoc on power lines

Sunday's storm caused widespread outages in the province
A powerful windstorm wreaked havoc across much
 of the province on Oct. 11, 2015, causing widespread
 power outages and damage to property. Winds
in the Swift Current area were clocked at 120
kilometres per hour, which caused this tree to
topple onto this car. Cleanup crews in that city
says they'll need at least a few more days before
 all of the downed trees are taken care of.

High winds on Sunday caused many people to go without power for a while in Saskatchewan.

"In terms of geography, it was huge," said Jonathan Tremblay, spokesperson with SaskPower. "We had two main issues with such high winds, the first one being for older power poles especially. This can break them and tear them out, which did happen."

On Sunday, winds gusted as low as 80 kilometers per hour in Saskatoon to as high as 120 km/hr in Swift Current.
