Brian Keating had always dreamed of seeing a whooping crane.

"When I lived in Swift Current, I used to drive to Regina and north of Regina to Last Mountain Lake every spring and every fall. I was hoping to see a whooping crane," he said. "I was never successful, but little did I know way back then where that whooping crane interest would lead."
