Event to feature local book fair and flash readouts and discussion

1-4 p.m.at the Moose Jaw Public Library.

Moose Jaw author Melanie McFarlane wants to bring together new, upcoming and established writes in the area.

"I really couldn't find anything like it close by home," she said. "Through the writing groups, I've met so many people that are beyond just wanting to write."

After fellow local writer Carol Ferguson approached McFarlane about doing a book signing together, the seed for the Oct. 24 Moose Jaw Writes: Celebrating Moose Jaw writers, past and present event for local authors and for the public was first planted.
