The main topic of Monday’s council meeting was the local improvement program (LIP) for cast iron water main replacement. Cast iron water main work is set to begin in spring 2016. The city will be responsible for 70 per cent of the cost and affected landowners will be responsible for the remaining 30 per cent.

Members of the Prairie South School Division (PSSD) made a presentation to council detailing why they believe the board should be exempt from their share of LIP for cast iron water main replacement.
