Moose Jaw Times-Herald: 'Positive news' for city revenues

City finance director says city expects an additional $170,000 in revenue sharing from province

As city officials prepared the 2016 preliminary operating budget, they decided to budget revenue sharing "conservatively," according to the city's finance director.

"We budgeted at the same amount of revenue sharing as we received last year," said Brian Acker, director of financial services with the City of Moose Jaw.

"We did think with the economic times in Saskatchewan that there might be some onus, I guess, on the government to try to curtail their expenditures as much as they could and try to freeze things or whatever, but we certainly welcome the positive news that they're not going to do that."
