Resident asks council to replace a tree that he says a city grader effectively killed

Since resident Don Dutchak bought his house on the 300 block of River Street East, he's planted and cared for about 27 trees.

However, he recently came before council after he said a city grader plowed into one of his trees two winters in a row, effectively killing it.

"They pushed in and they took a 15-foot tree out. It's down to a four-foot stub in the ground," he said. "When I bought this house it was about four feet of weeds, crap grass and whatever. I've got all the weeds cut out of there and it's starting to look like a little park now."
