Moose Jaw Times-Herald: Police ask for 2.19 per cent increase

The Moose Jaw Police Service (MJPS) operating budget accounts for 22.04 per cent of the city's proposed 2016 budget.

In 2015 the MJPS budget accounted for 22.9 per cent of the City of Moose Jaw's overall operating budget, in 2014 it was 24.1 per cent, in 2013 it was 23.7 per cent and in 2012, it was 23.8 per cent.

"So (2016 is) a slight decrease for us for the total percentage of the city's operating budget and we'll continue to work towards maintaining that," said Deputy Chief Cliff Froehlich.
