Two Moose Jaw Sask. Youth Parliament members reflect on their experiences

Three years ago, Evan Bourassa wanted to experience different views of the world.

So, on the advice of a friend, he joined Saskatchewan Youth Parliament (SYP).

"We're told time and time again by the political pundits that youth have nothing interesting to add to the conversation - they're disenfranchised, they're uninformed, inactive, disinterested in the whole political process," said Bourassa, now 21 going on 22. "But meeting with students and talking with students and specifically with my involvement with Youth Parliament, I'd say I stand humbled, dissent to the idea that youth aren't uninvolved, inactive and don't really care.

"I think we're ushering a new age of youth involvement, which is really exciting."
