Council approves sole source contract to repair three bridges

Residents will soon see work done on three city bridges.
At Monday’s council meeting, councillors
approved entering into an agreement with Stantec Consulting Ltd. to
investigate,
design, compile documents and supervise construction for
post-flood repairs to the Seventh Avenue Southwest Bridge, Manitoba
Street Expressway Bridge and regular maintenance to the Ninth Avenue Bridge. There will
be a fixed fee of $197,000.
“There’s maintenance issues on a variety of the bridges,” said Josh Mickleborough, director of engineering services.
