Local historians prepare plaque to hang in lobby of Victoria Place
On Sept. 17, 2015, local historians Bill and Ann
Heselton had a ceremony to present a plaque
 detailing the history of Victoria School. The plaque
hangs in the lobby of Victoria Place, which stands
on the ground the school once did. (From left):

In the middle of the night in early December 1978, Victoria School was demolished after standing for 89 years.

While the location of the former school that was built in 1889 is now occupied by Victoria Place at 111 Fairford St. E., local historians Bill and Ann Heselton want to make sure no one forgets the history of that space.

"People know it as the water corporation building and it's not. It's Victoria Place," said Ann. "People should remember that Victoria School was here."
