After almost 10 years and more than a dozen screenplays, one of local writer Andre Harden’s screenplays is being made into a movie.

“It’s pretty great. I mean, it was a really long slog for four years because it sort of goes up and down where you get really close to thinking it’ll be made and then it doesn’t work out, until suddenly you get your financing,” he said.

“You go from just waiting and never really knowing if it’s going to go forward to suddenly realizing that you’re going to be shooting in eight weeks and everything has to happen.”

He has been freelancing since 2000. Harden wrote the screenplay, Numb, four years ago and one of the first people who looked at it, optioned to make it into a movie. He’s spent the last four years working with the producer and the director to develop the film.
