Councillors have a thing or two to say about Canada Post’s announced elimination of door-to-door mail delivery.

“I think at this point we need to let them know now, on behalf of the majority of residents, that this is not a good idea for this community,” said Coun. Don Mitchell. “It’s a bad idea and it should even at this stage, as they discuss their implementation, be seriously reconsidered.”

He said more than 70 municipalities across Canada have expressed their opposition to Canada Post and the federal government and more than 60 per cent of Canadians are opposed to the change.
