On Wednesday the Caribou West Pet Clinic has closed its doors for good.
"It's a selfish decision in some ways, but I think it's time to take care of myself," said owner and veterinarian Ann Vander Hooft. "It's been a 30-year career. It can be very demanding being on call 24 hours a day seven days a week. I still love being a veterinarian very much so, but running this practice is getting to be too much. It's just time to slow down."
