Crystal McCubbing yearns for the day when her adopted son can eat with the family at dinner.
Kole Cooper is five years old and thanks to a rare genetic disorder, he has almost reached his life expectancy of six.
"It's so much to do, all those meds every day and make sure he gets his milk in. Then he has physical therapy and occupational therapy and speech therapy and so he gets us hopping," said Crystal. "He consumed our whole house, just tending to all his needs."
Kole and his twin brother Kage were born on Sept. 13, 2010 in Moose Jaw with urea cycle disorder, a genetic disorder caused by a mutation resulting in a deficiency of one of the six enzymes in the urea cycle that removes ammonia from the blood stream.
