City
to hold information session for affected residents

On the above map, in the shaded areas, parking will be restricted to one side of the roadway on streets less than 11 meters wide. The permit program will be implemented in this trial area. Upon trial completion, which could be up to one year, city administration will provide a program report to council. Public consultations were held last fall and the city will host an open house event in May to inform residents about the narrow streets project and the permit program. By the end of
May, the city is planning to hold an information session on the narrow street
trial program.
“The first
thing we have to do is update the bylaw, the traffic and parking bylaw,” said
Mark Sture, transit manager with the city. “Bylaw changes I’m hoping will go to
the next council meeting. I’m just working on the changes.”
The open house
will take place at Saskatchewan Polytechnic, and once dates are confirmed, the
city will notify the public two or three weeks in advance.
