Moose Jaw Times-Herald: A new agreement for water treatment plant

For 60 years, the cities of Moose Jaw and Regina have jointly operated the Buffalo Pound Water Treatment Plant.

Now, pending final approval on Dec. 21 from Regina's city council, the Buffalo Pound Water Administration Board will be incorporated as a non-profit corporation, named the Buffalo Pound Water Treatment Corporation (BPWTC). It will come into effect as close as possible to Jan. 1, 2016.

"We expect through this process to be able to establish standard utility rate models to establish rates," said Matt Noble, city manager.
