Moose Jaw Times-Herald: Being the heroes for Hailey at Relay for Life

When she was three months old, Hailey Moore had heart surgery.

“She had a heart defect and she was going for her first heart surgery. They were supposed to be able to fix it really easily,” said her mother Megan Moore. “The day before surgery they had to do a bunch of tests and when they were doing the ultrasound of her heart they noticed some abnormalities on her liver and a tumour in her tummy that she’s had since she was two months old.”

Before Hailey was born she had a congenital heart defect (CHD) called Tetralogy of Fallot. After the heart surgery in December 2010, Moore said it was discovered the abnormalities were cancerous.
