Marie-Claire Khadij often serves meals at Riverside Mission and sees not just adults, but teenagers and women there too in need.
"You always see people that are sleeping on the streets and you always wonder, 'How can I help?'" she said, adding that Riverside Mission serves eight meals a week. "That's a great way to get involved and make a difference because you can make sure that they get food and housing if they need it."
She's hoping to raise awareness to what Riverside Mission does, as well as raise funds to support the local charity, during the first-ever event, Coldest Night of the Year set for Feb. 20.
