While Monday was a celebration of 10 years of school division amalgamation, Education Minister Don Morgan also reflected on
La Loche.
"It's one of the biggest challenges that our province is trying to deal with now," he said. "All the divisions have
had plans and stuff where they've done the training for lockdowns, the risk assessments, all of the things that you can do
and you assume it's like when you're a kid, you have a fire drill at school that you're never going to use it and this is
the time we had to."
On Jan. 22, two teenaged brothers were killed in a home in the northern community and a teacher and an aide were shot dead
at the high school. Seven people were also wounded.
