Tuesday was the last Tuesday before lent and Smitty’s Moose Jaw was aiming to give back to the community.

“Shrove Tuesday is essentially Fat Tuesday, so it’s the last day before lent,” said Jon Lewis, assistant general manager at Smitty’s at the Town ‘n’ Country Mall. “They would get rid of all the perishables and food they’d be giving up for lent.”

On Tuesday morning, from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m., Smitty’s offered three free pancakes to customers and asked for donations to the Moose Jaw Health Foundation (MJHF) to support the hyperbaric chamber campaign.
