Buffalo Pound Water Treatment Plant undergoing first set of major upgrades since 1989
By Lisa Goudy
The Buffalo Pound Water Treatment Plant (BPWTP) is due for some upgrades.
The 60-year-old building had its last upgrades in 1989. Now, there are around $30-million worth of upgrades to be done this
year and possibly into early 2017.
"They can do some repair work without shutting
the plant off. So the first day (on Wednesday) was to shut the plant off
so
they could access it and do some work and we'll have to do a few
more throughout this year and hopefully we get all that work
done before the end of the year," said Ryan Johnson, general
manager of the BPWTP.
