Bill Kruse doesn’t usually use art to make political statements.
However, for one of his pieces on display in the Moose Jaw Art
Guild’s exhibition at the Mosaic Gallery at the Moose Jaw Cultural
Centre (MJCC), he made an exception in his piece, VVC (Valley View
Centre) Matters.
“Basically I took a colour photo, turned it into black and white,
(but) didn’t like it. So I turned it into a chocolate brown photo,” said
Kruse. “It’s all about the sign but yet no Valley View. It’s the road
to Valley View and how it’s disappearing.
“They’re taking Valley View away so that’s why I called it VVC Matters because I guess I’m against it.”
The official opening of the exhibit took place on Saturday. There are
18 members’ art represented in this year’s exhibition. It will be on
display until Sept. 7.
