clamshell sat on top of the sand castle as king. A seaweed maze led up
to the castle entrance with a net on a pole in the ground to symbolize
the country flag, which was Canada.
“This is to mark our territory and that’s our drawbridge,” explained
Justin Froehlich, one of the three castle builders. “This is our dirt
bike rally. It’s not much of a dirt bike rally thought. This is a guy
going on the ramp.”
“And this is our moat. We just put seaweed in it so that we could
pour water in,” added Justin’s cousin Ethan Gross, who also designed the
seaweed maze. “(Royalty has) a secret password that they can just go
straight through (the maze).”
Along with Keenan Gross, the three cousins were the only ones who
came out in the rainy weather Saturday morning for a sand building
contest at Buffalo Pound Provincial Park.
