With frigid temperatures hitting the province, more power is being used and this week, SaskPower hit a new power use record.
The record was set this past Monday at 5:25 p.m. with peak power use at 3,710 megawatts, surpassing the previous record from Jan. 12, 2016 by 70 megawatts.
“So it’s a pretty substantial jump,” said Heather Johnson, spokesperson with SaskPower.
