It’s only the beginning of August, but
harvest has already started in Saskatchewan.
“We are well
ahead of where we were compared to last year. At this time provincially, we
have just less than one per cent of the crop combined while last year at this
time, we weren’t even thinking about harvest,” said Shannon Friesen, regional crops specialist with
Saskatchewan Agriculture, based in Moose Jaw.
“So
overall we’re probably about two to three weeks ahead of where we would
typically be the last couple of years.”
