Hundreds of people lined up outside Safeway downtown before the doors of the new Safeway Extra store opened at 8 a.m.
Friday.
“It was a great turnout,” said Pat Litzenberger, who is the
franchise owner of the store with his wife Donna. “We didn’t know what to
expect. It was surprisingly unexpected. It was wonderful to see. Everyone was
smiling and happy to be here.”
