Thanks to a
tender coming in at almost half the cost of what the city expected, residents
will likely see more roads resurfaced this year.
Mayor Deb
Higgins said road restoration, which including resurfacing, is one of three
main programs for road repair. The city has awarded a $1.4-million tender.
“This is where
you will see the road get milled down and then resurfaced,” said Higgins. “The
really good news is the tender came in 40 per cent below what we expected and
so what we’re doing is we’ll be moving up more streets to be able to utilize
the budget and get done a little more if we can.”
