Wi-Fi might be available in some city facilities.
Council
ratified a motion passed by executive committee to allow SaskTel to install
SaskTel Select Wi-Fi in city facilities if it is open to all users at last week's meeting. This is similar to the Shaw Go Wi-Fi network agreement that council
approved in March 2014.
“(Shaw’s)
first proposal was to offer Wi-Fi only to Shaw customers and the city
negotiated and made them open it up to all users. So Shaw created an open
network and a guest network for non-Shaw users,” said Wade McKay, manager of
information technology.
