Moose Jaw Times-Herald: ‘Dancing saved my life’

Growing up, Scott Fowler was a different kid.
“Dancing saved my life,” he said. “Dancing took me to where my people were, people like me.”

After a professional career of 25 years and adjudicating for the last 15 years and counting, Fowler knows he’s done some “pretty amazing things” in his life, including performing on Broadway, appearing in feature films and television shows, performing with the New York City ballet and dancing with Cher. Now he’s ready to pass on what he’s learned to upcoming dancers.

Fowler, who now lives in L.A., is one of the three adjudicators at the 57th annual Dance Inspirations competition put on by the Moose Jaw Festival of Dance. It began on Wednesday and concludes on Sunday.
