The Moose Jaw Kinsmen Flying Fins have been in the city for 50 years, but they are now facing a projected $26,000 deficit.
They also pay the highest pool rates for
swim clubs in the province.
“This is causing
our club to struggle financially,” said Rick Johns, club president. “If
something isn’t done, we’ll be unable to continue to run the club.”
According to
Johns’ and head coach Gord Shields’ presentation to council on Monday night, in
the 2010-11 season, the club paid $33,000.
