It took almost three years for a remote to be installed with Gloria Klemenz' water meter.
The water meter was installed on July 16, 2012. The remote wasn't installed until March 25, 2015. As such, the water consumption had to be estimated.
"We put up our house up for sale in March," said Klemenz. "I got a little green note in my mailbox. Other than that, I have never gotten a note. I did not know that I didn't have a meter in my backyard. I never knew. I just always got water bills and paid them."
