Coun. Brian Swanson wants to increase accountability regarding personnel committee grievance decisions, which aren’t always unanimous.
“I think it’s just part of our job if we’re
to hear grievances that we make a decision on them and if we dissent with the
decision, I think there should be an opportunity to indicate so on the final
version of the decision,” he said.
“I
use the example with the arbitrations that we have had with the fire department
and even the police department in the past. Those arbitrations were not
unanimously arrived at.”
