Affected business and property owners relay concerns; council approves project

Despite concerns raised by affected business owners, councillors decided
to go ahead with the work on Thatcher Drive and Main Street.
At Monday's council meeting, the majority of councillors voted in
favour of a revised option that would include building an approach off
of Main Street and a U-turn lane. This increased the cost of the project
by $165,000 and the source of those funds will be from the land
development reserve. It will also reduce the operating grant the city
receives from the province.
"Everyone in the gallery has something that they would like to
see with their particular business," said Coun. Candis Kirkpatrick.
