Before throwing out plants no longer wanted in the yard, phone the parks and recreation department.
The department began the program Recycle Your Greenery a few years ago and now is an ideal time for the city to move plants.
“Let’s say you’re clearing out your bed and
you’ve got some perennials that you don’t want. Instead of throwing them
in the
garbage you can give me a call,” said parks gardener Daily Lennox.
“I’ll come look at them and if we can use them, we’ll take
them and plant them somewhere on city property.”
