A
lot of big events are happening this weekend.
With
Relay for Life and Concert of Hope people are encouraged to go out and support
cancer survivors and research as well as the Moose Jaw Health Foundation. Plus
there is Decoration Day on Sunday. These are all causes and stories we need to
support, to hear and to always remember.
Cancer
still remains one of the most common causes of death in Canada and the world.
Hospital equipment and all the other good work the health foundation does is
also very important.
Cancer
survivor stories are always heartfelt and good stories to hear, no matter how
sad. Earlier this week I interviewed a mother whose daughter, now in remission,
was diagnosed with cancer at age three months.
As
sad as the story is, it’s also a touching story because her daughter has been
cancer-free for more than a year. She has a team in this year’s Relay for Life.
