Ducharme celebrate French culture at a party

Quebec’s annual St. Jean Baptiste Day originated as a celebration of St. Jean Baptiste’s feast day on June 24.
The Assocciation communautaire fransaskoise de Moose Jaw (ACFMJ) in collaboration with Ecole Ducharme held a St. Jean Baptiste party at the Western Development Museum on Saturday.
“It’s a celebration in honour of the patriot saint of Canadian francophones which in Quebec is their national holiday,” said Stephanie Gaudet, one of the event’s organizers and teacher at Ecole Ducharme. “In Western Canada we just celebrate it as a way of celebrating that we speak French in Western Canada.”
