When Moose Jaw’s 17-year-old Kyle Morhart received the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal recently, he didn’t know why he received
it.
“My first thought was: What am I winning this for?” said Morhart. “I was honoured to receive it … I felt like I received it
on behalf of the group that I worked with.”
Morhart received the medal for his work with the Aboriginal Youth Group with the local YMCA. Morhart was one of three Moose
Javians to receive the Diamond Jubilee Medal at Government House in Regina last week. Bernice Crosbie and Lacey Corey also
received the medal.
