For Lynne Bowerin, it’s important to show her kids
firefighters are regular people.
“It’s nice to see that they’re still people as heroes,”
said Bowerin. “The kids see them as heroes and they’re also people … Thank you
to the firemen for their great service and for help being part of our
community.”
Bowerin came for her third time with her family and her
two boys to the annual Moose Jaw Fire Department fire prevention week open
house at the South Hill Fire Hall on Saturday. The open house marked the last
day of fire prevention week and was an opportunity for residents to learn more
about fire safety practices.

“We just try to make people aware that fire safety is a
all year-round thing. It’s not just one week out of the year,” said Moose Jaw
Fire Department public education officer Cathie Bassett.
