Moose Jaw Times-Herald: Strong holiday season for local businesses

Holiday shoppers were good to local retailers this year.

“It was a very good year and very good season,” said Jillian Bilawchuk, owner of Jillian’s Design Elements. “I think that the cold weather definitely keeps people indoors and so with that cold snap, we definitely saw a little bit slowing of traffic.”

She said the busiest time of year was before Christmas.

“I find January tends to be slow in retail because people have spent all their money at Christmas so they’re trying to pay their bills,” said Bilawchuk.
