When I first read that not all stress was bad for you, I wasn’t sure I believed it.
Stress
can make people uptight or angry. It can produce physical, emotional
and mental symptoms and can even, in worst-case
scenarios, lead to the development of diseases. Sure, everyone
deals with stress differently, but ideally wouldn’t it be better
not to have any stress at all?
Well
I did some research and there are many studies out there showing that
isn’t true. According to research by Firdaus Dhabhar,
PhD and associate professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences
and director of research at the Stanford Center on Stress
& Health, short-term stress could be beneficial.
