Joan Soggie’s husband’s grandmother homesteaded in a place that no longer exists.
It was once a valley connecting the South Saskatchewan River and the Qu’Appelle River. Known as Aiktow Valley, it is now hidden under Lake Diefenbaker, it became that way when the dams were built in the early 1960s.
