As Monica DeCampo picked up a red porcelain pot, she noted how it was originally green.
“It’s a copper green that turns red
because the gas in order to burn energy will steal the oxygen from the
pots. So that’s how you get lustres and so forth,” she said. “It’s
called reduction.”
It is one piece of many in her new
exhibit called Seven: An Adventure in porcelain on display at the Mosaic
Gallery at the Moose Jaw Cultural Centre until Nov. 22.
