Moose Jaw Times-Herald: SIAST sees a boom in international student enrolment

SIAST enters in housing partnership with Canada Homestay Network

With a surge in international students, SIAST is looking to help students find homes.

“At all four campuses we don’t have a residence available for any student for that matter and it’s really difficult for Canadians at all four of our campuses that are coming from smaller centres in Saskatchewan to the bigger centres to go to school,” said Jason Mazzei, manager of international education at SIAST.

“It adds to the fact for the international students travelling halfway around the world to come and try to find appropriate accommodations while they’re studying at SIAST.”

He said because of the rise in enrolment of international students, he contacted Canada Homestay Network to propose a partnership between the non-profit organization and SIAST.
